 Sable German Shepherds are intelligent dogs who are loyal and loving toward their family members.   Agouti (the correct term for Sable) is the genetically dominating pattern in the entire German Shepherd Dog breed. 

 Sable GSDs are born all tan in color. The characteristic black tipping starts coming in after a few weeks of age and then continues until the puppy is a few years old. 

 Black German Shepherds are known to have very pleasant and stable temperaments. Due to their extreme loyalty, they make great family dogs. These are quite energetic companions, so regular exercise should be encouraged to keep them in shape and for top mental performance.
